Catherine Young, from Oxford, UK, was awarded scholarships to train at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music before joining English National Opera on the Harewood Artist Programme.
She made her professional debut with the company in the Summer of 2011 as Hippolyta in Christopher Alden’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and spent eight seasons with ENO. She has performed all over the UK; Royal Opera House, Covent Garden; London Coliseum; Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall, among others. She has been directed by Sir David Poutney, Richard Jones CBE, Christopher and David Alden, and Simon McBurney. She has sung under the batons of Sir Mark Elder, Edward Gardner OBE, Mark Wigglesworth, Eun Sun Kim, Leo Hussein and Placido Domingo. |
